statuewhiteshadowWEBEstablished in 2003, the Lieutenant-Governor's Dialogue Award is awarded to those role models who champion the  principles of harmony and respect in our diverse communities.

The only honour of its kind in Canada, the  Lieutenant-Governor's Dialogue Award is  sponsored by Dialogue New  Brunswick, a non profit organization whose mission is to work towards strengthening the province’s social cohesion by fostering harmonious relationships between all cultural groups in the province.


An individual and/or group who fosters understanding, mutual respect and appreciation between New Brunswickers are eligible. The Award may be conferred posthumously.
Institutions who are subject to the Official Languages Act are not eligible.

Selection process

Dialogue New Brunswick will appoint a jury to review nominations and select recipients.


The Lieutenant-Governor’s Dialogue Award is a nickel-plated sculpture entitled "Resolutions" which is on permanent display at Old Government House. The recipients receive a certificate signed by the Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick and by Dialogue New Brunswick’s Co-Chairs. The name of each recipient is added to a permanent plaque, which is also on display at Old Government House.

This Award is funded through the Canada/New Brunswick Agreement on the Provision of French-language Services.
